ETIP HYDROPOWER will participate in ViennaHydro 2026, taking place from 18 to 20 November in Vienna, Austria, contributing to the exchange on the future of hydropower and European research and innovation.
The conference will bring together researchers, industry representatives and other hydropower stakeholders to exchange knowledge on the technological, environmental and societal challenges shaping the sector.
Throughout the event, ETIP HYDROPOWER will be present at a joint exhibition booth together with EU-funded hydropower projects, providing a space to discover ongoing European research and innovation activities, connect with project representatives and explore opportunities for collaboration across the sector.
ETIP HYDROPOWER will also contribute directly to the conference programme by moderating a dedicated session, fostering exchange between experts and bringing different perspectives into the discussion on the future development of hydropower.
ViennaHydro will also feature dedicated sessions showcasing ongoing European research:
Panel 1.1 – Special Session on Social Aspects in Hydropower
European research projects will discuss the growing importance of social and societal considerations in hydropower research and development, highlighting different approaches to integrating these dimensions into technological and environmental innovation.
Panel 2.1 – Special Session on Ongoing Horizon Europe Research Projects
Ongoing Horizon Europe hydropower projects will present their latest developments and results, offering an overview of current European R&I activities and encouraging knowledge exchange and synergies across projects.
These activities align closely with ETIP HYDROPOWER's role in connecting and increasing the visibility of EU-funded hydropower R&I initiatives and facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange across the European hydropower community.
